Nursery business on the rise in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Mar 13: A good number of people in the district have become financially solvent by nursery business in recent years.
According to sources the growth of nursery in the private sector has brought prosperity to the both urban and rural people in the region. This expanding private sector business has now become lucrative.
Sources said, they are more than 400 nurseries in eight upazilas of the district. Ranju Mia, owner of a nursery in Rangpur City said he has been running nursery business for 15 years. He earns Tk 1,20,000 to Tk 1,50,000 annually.
He hopes to earn double of his present income from his nursery. He also urged the government to provide necessary support so that they can get easy bank loan and other facilities.
At present there are different kinds of fruits, herbal, flowers and wood plants in his nursery and he is now trying to expand his business, he further said.
Another nursery owner Abdul Gani at Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur district has said this business has brought massive change in his life and he has conquered poverty through this business.
As the business is profitable many people of the region are getting enthusiastic about it. And this business is getting popular in the district, he added.
