One commits suicide in Sylhet

SYLHET, Jan 3 (UNB): A young man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room in Sayedpur area of Majortila in the city on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Jaber Ahmad, 32, son of Obaidul Haque, a resident of Deol village in Bianibazar upazila. He used to live in Sayedpur of Majortila in the city.

Police said Jaber committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room around 6:00am.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Sakhawat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shahparan Police Station, confirmed the incident.
