GOPALGANJ, Mar 16 (UNB): A man was killed and 19 others were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers at Tetulia village in Kashiani upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Abul Bashar Shikdar, 50, a resident of Tetulia village of the upazila.
Witnesses said an altercation ensued between some residents of Tetulia and Rajpat village over irrigation of a farmland from a canal in the area.
At one stage, both groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other, triggering a clash in the area, leaving 21 people injured.
Among the injured, three were rushed to Gopalganj General Hospital where Abul Bashar succumbed to his injured around 11 pm.
