One killed over land dispute in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR, July 29 (UNB): A man was beaten to death by his rivals over a land-related dispute at Sonapur in Roypur upazila of the district on Tuesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Mannan, son of Ismail Hossain, a resident of Sonapur village.

Locals said Abdul Mannan went the garden of his house to collect coconuts.

At that time, Jewel, son of Feroz Alam, obstructed Mannan from collecting coconuts from a tree, which he claimed to be owned by him. Following this, they locked in an altercation, leading to a clash.
