One stabbed to death by two brothers

JAMALPUR, Oct 14 (UNB): A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his two brothers over a land-related dispute at Kalpa Para village in sadar Upazila on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Warez Ali, 40, son of late Shamsul Haque of the village.

Locals said there had been a longstanding dispute between Warez Ali and his two brothers-Hazrat Ali and Wajed Ali-over the ownership of a piece of land.

As a sequel to it, two brothers swooped on Warez and chopped him with sharp weapons indiscriminately while he was sleeping at his home, leaving him injured. Warez was rushed to hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
