One stabbed to death in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, May 9 (BSS): A man was allegedly stabbed to death by his nephew at Kalibari Road area in the town early hours today.
The victim was identified as Samir Chandra, 45, a jewellery shop worker of the town and son of Shashanka Chandra.
Samir hailed from Tangail district and living in a rented house at Kalibari area, police said.
The victim's nephew Akash Das, 19, son of Shankar Das and Nurul Islam Sunny, 20, son of Nuru Miah of town's Patgodam area went to the house of Samir at about 2.00 am and called Samir to open the door, police said.
When Samir opened the door Akash and Sunny entered into the house and tied up Samir with a rope and looted gold and silver ornaments and cash breaking the lockers, said Abul Mansur, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station.
When Samir raised hue and cry for help, they stabbed him with knives at different parts of the body including throat and killed him on the spot.
On information, a police team rushed to the spot and arrested Akash and Sunny from an abandoned house of Kalibari area. Police also seized two knives and a big size dao from the spot. They were taken to Kotwali police Station for interrogation.
