Pabna JD leader hacked to death

PABNA, Jan 27: A union level Juba Dal leader was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants at his residence at Sannyashibada village in Bera Upazila of Pabna early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Manik Hossain, 45, son of Nurul Islam of the village Shannyashibada and the former Juba Dal president of Rooppur union unit in Bera Upazila of the district.

Officer-in-Aminpur police station Faruque Hossain and victim's family members said that a gang of assailants numbering six to seven entered into the house of Manik Hossain and stabbed him indiscriminately. He died on the spot Monday.

On information, Aminpur thana police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of Manik and sent it to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.
