Pabna Sramik Dal leader hacked to death

PABNA, Apr 24: A leader of Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal was hacked to death by miscreants at Poydah village in Atghoria Upazila of Pabna Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Ripon Hossain, 32, vice president of Atghoria upazila unit and also an executive member of district Sramik Dal unit of Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal and son of Osman Gani of the Poydah village in the Upazila, confirmed Abdul Gafur, secretary of District Sramik Dal unit.

Officer-in-Charge of Atghoria police station, Sheikh Lelin Alamgir said that a gang of miscreants numbering 7 to 8 attacked him at around 7.30am with sharp weapons, stabbing him indiscriminately while he was going to local market from his residence, leaving him seriously injured. Locals rescued him in bloodstained condition from the spot and took him to Atghoria Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared him dead at around 9.30am.

The body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
