Panchagarh farmers expect bumper mustard production

PANCHGAGARH, Dec 18 (BSS): Farmers of Panchagarh district have cultivated mustard on 16,039 hectares of land in the district this year with the production target of 18,055 tons.
District Agricultural Extension (DAE) sources said five varieties of mustard seeds like BARI-9, BINA-5, BINA-8, BARI-15 and BARI-14 were sold the among the farmers.
Deputy Director of Panchagarh DAE Md, Nazrul Islam told BSS if weather remains favourable the farmers will get bumper production of mustard this year.
He said BARI-14 and BARI-15 varieties of mustard is a short duration variety.
