PDB to generate 150 MW electricity in Syedpur

NILPHAMARI, Dec 05: Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) has taken an initiative to generate 150 MW electricity in Syedpur upazila of the district.

The power generation project would be located near BPDB office in Syedpur bypass road area.

The simple cycle project would improve power situation and reduce electricity shortage of the region.

The project would largely improve power supply in nearby Uttara EPZ and proposed special economic zone which is situated only two kilometres northwest of the project.

In this connection a meeting was held in environmental and geographic information service centre office in Syedpur recently.

Presided over by upazila chairman of Syedpur Upazilla Moksudul Momin, the meeting was attended, among others, by UNO Syedpur Parimol Kumar Sarkar, assistant project director of the power project ANM Shamsuzzaman and others.
