Poet Bonde Ali\\\'s death anniversary today

PABNA, Jun 26: Today (June 27) is the 35th death anniversary of Poet Bonde Ali Miah, one of the noted poets and lyricists of 19 century in Bangal literature who hailed from Pabna. Born in January 17 in 1906 at village Narayanpur of the district headquarter poet Bonde Ali reached one of the topmost positions of the contemporary lyricists of 19th century. The poet passed away on June, 27, 1979.

Bande Ali Miah was a poet of our simple and typical rural life in Bangladesh. His verses depict the simple rural life, free from complexities and the din and bustle of mechanical life. Not only was he a poet, he was also a famous painter and a scriptwriter.  

'Char-Jamai', the first book of the poet Bonde Ali was published in 1927 from 'Ashutosh Library' in Calcutta. Till his death the poet wrote 84 books including poetry, prose, drama and lyrics. His famous poem 'Maynamotir Char' was published in 1931 from 'D.M Library' in Calcutta. It is one of the best pieces of Bangle literature.
