Police recover bodies of 2 sisters, their mother

KHULNA, Apr 23: Police recovered the bodies of two sisters and their mother from a pond of village Tiket under Debhata Upazila of Satkhira district Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Astomi Sarkar (35), wife of Proshanto Sarker, her daughter Bonna (4 year and 6months) and Pakhi aged about 9 months of village Sarderdango Tiket under Debhata Upazila of the district.

Police arrested Proshanto Sarkar, husband of Astomi Sarkar, her father in-law Profullo Sarkar and mother in-law Hemala in this connection.

Circle ASP of Kaligong Mir Monir Hossain said police went to the spot and recovered the bodies from the pond with no injury marks in their bodies.

Brother of the victim Nitay Chandra Roy claimed that her husband Proshanto used to misbehave with Astomi over trifling matters. He suspected that they were killed by food poisoning.     gmrafiq07@gmail.com
