Poor-friendly budget urged in Jessore

JESSORE, May 26: Speakers at a pre-budget workshop held at Jessore Press Club Tuesday urged the government to announce a poor-friendly budget.

Practical Action, Bangladesh, in association with Jessore Municipality and Dhara organised the workshop on eve of announcement of the national budged and budget of Jessore Municipality.

Shah Riazur Rahman, project manager, Practical Action, Bangladesh, chaired the workshop while Jahangir Ahmed Shakil, acting mayor, Jessore Municipality was the chief guest.

Speakers in the workshop urged the government as well as Jessore Municipality to place budgets that should be poor-friendly.
