Pre-budget seminar held in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Mar 19: A seminar on the next budget -2015-16 of the country and the expectation and demand of the district was held Wednesday in Nilphamari.

Organised by Susasoner Jonyo Procharavijan (SUPRO), an NGO on its office premises in Dalpotti area of old station road of Nilphamari Municipality, the seminar was presided over by Prof. Gourango Sirkar, retired professor of Nilphamari Govt. College.

The seminar was attended by representatives from different local govt bodies including UP, Upazila, municipality and educational institutions, farmers, labour organisations and so on.

The participants of the seminar discussed elaborately the industrial, agricultural and communication prospects and expectations of the district.

The participants recommended the introduction of district budget, conducting research on ginger, the main product of the district, reveal the research on Black Bengal goat, establishment of Chilahati land port, establishment of SEZ in Nilphamari, etc.
