Preparations for Durga Puja at final stage in districts

NILPHAMARI, Sept 27: All preparations including making of idols have been completed to observe Hindu community's Durga Puja. The idol making artisans were working for over a month to make Durga idols across the district.
Out of 777 Puja mondops 256 are in sadar upazila, 77 in Dimla upazila, 89 in Domar, 152 in Jaldhaka, 256 in Kishoreganj and 75 Mondops in Syedpur upazilas. District administration in the meantime allotted 380 metric tonnes of rice for the Puja committees which were distributed as well. abumusa88@gmail.com

Our Correspondent from Pabna reports: The sculptors in Puja mondops in nine upazilas of Pabna are passing busy time on the occasion of coming Durga Puja.
A total of 305 puja mondops were set up in nine upazilas of the district to observe Durga Puja, said Gonesh Chandra Ghosh, president of the Durga Puja Udjapan Parishad of the district.
The entrance to every mondap has been nicely graced with ornamental gates and bright electric lights to attract devotees, while wood and bamboo altars for staging the idols of Durga and her entourage have been colourfully decorated with paper, cork and styrofoam designs, jute carpeting and other ornaments. motiarfe@gmail.com
Khulna
Our Correspondent from Khulna reports: Preparations for the five-day-long celebration of Sharodiya Durgotsab which is the prime religious festival of the Bengali Hindu community is going on in full swing in Khulna City and 9 upazilas of the district. Puja will also be observed in Bagerhat and Satkhira district.
The puja celebrations will start on September 30 and end through immersion of the images of the goddess in different rivers and other water bodies, like canals and ponds on October 4.
Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) and SP office sources said a total of 891 mondops are being set up in the district this year and among them 110 mondops will be erected in the city. Besides, a total of 571 Puja mondops will be erected in Jessore and 536 Puja mondops in Satkhira districts this year, source said.
