When visited the local markets such as Park  bazar, Soyani bazar and Bottala bazar the retail and wholesalers informed FE that this year ginger price extremely higher than the previous couple of years. Presently good quality of ginger is being sold Tk 200 and low quality of ginger is being sold Tk 150 to Tk 180 per kg.

Anower Miah a spice seller of Park bazar said, this year supply of ginger is very poor in the local market. However they are purchasing ginger from the wholesale marker at a higher price, so they are forced to sell it at higher price.
