Prisoner commits suicide in Sherpur jail

SHERPUR, Oct 12 (UNB): An under-trail prisoner, accused in a murder case, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a bathroom of the district jail on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sohrab Ali, 32, son of Abdul Jabbar of Rouha Charpara of sadar uapzila.

Police arrested Sohrab on April 17 following a case filed in connection with the murder of his elder brother.

Jail sources said Sohrab hanged himself from the grill of the window with a piece of cloth in the bathroom around 8:30 am.
