Process of enclave exchange going on

NILPHAMARI, July 14: Enclaves of the two sub-continental countries of Bangladesh and India are to be exchanged on July 31 of this year for which the people of the enclaves had to wait for long 68 years.
In the meantime survey and census have begun from July 6 last. The residents shall have the option to decide the country where they want to reside.
Sources said according to the latest survey under taken four years ago the total land of 111enclaves in Bangladesh has 17158 acres out of which 36 enclaves of Panchagarh district has 190 acres of land, 58 enclaves of Lalmonirhat district has 8978 acres of land, 12 enclaves of Kurigram district has 1880 acres of land and in five enclaves in Nilphamari district has 6110 acres of land.
In India there are 51 enclaves out of which four are in Jalpaiguri district and 47 in Kutchbihar district.
Sources said 10 survey teams are working in Kurigram district, 20 in Lalmonirhat district, 19 in Panchagarh district and one in Nilphamari district.
