GAIBANDHA, May 27 (BSS): Speakers at a workshop here on Monday underlined the importance of promoting water, sanitation and hygiene strategies to ensure a water and sanitation related disease-free healthy society.
Importance should be given to create awareness among the people, particularly in the rural areas, about the use of safe water and sanitary latrines side by side with enabling environment for hygiene promotion, they said. The speakers said this while addressing an advocacy workshop on Strengthening Wash Activities through REECALL (Resilience through Economic Empowerment, Climate Adaptation and Leadership Learning) project held at the Zila Parishad auditorium here.
SKS Foundation, a local NGO, is implementing the project at Holdia union of Shaghata upazila and Gozaria and Fulchhari unions of Fuchhari upazila with the financial support of Oxfam and Australian Aid.
