Protecting rights of the challenged people stressed

RAJSHAHI, Feb 15 (BSS): Speakers at a participatory discussion have unequivocally called for protecting the fundamental rights of the persons with disabilities by bringing them into the mainstream.

They also viewed full-fledged implementation of the Laws on Persons with Disabilities regarding their Rights and Protection-2013 will bring overall development.

The observations came at a workshop styled "Laws on Persons with Disabilities regarding their Rights and Protection- 2013" held at Safawang Community center in Rajshahi city here today.

District Badhan Protibandhi Sangstha (DBPS) and Protibandhi Nari Odhikar Bikash Sangstha (PNOBS) jointly organized the workshop in association with ADD International, a UK-based development agency, and Manusher Jonya Foundation.

Main thrust of the workshop was to draw attention of the policymakers to the plights of the country's more than 1.45 crore challenged people.
