Pry edn officer stand released in Barisal

An Upazila primary education officer (UPEO) accused of various irregularities has been ordered to be stand-released and report at the Primary Education Directorate. Sadar upazila primary education officer Mostafa Masud was accused of ‘deputation-business’ and irregularities during the appointment of 35 fourth class employees, said sources. He allegedly influenced the transfer of about 50 teachers from remote areas to urban areas or areas near the homes of the teachers by taking bribe. This activity also caused teachers crisis at the village schools, sources added. However, Mostafa Masud denied the allegations, according to a news agency.
