RAJSHAHI, May 17 (BSS): People are seen purchasing TCB goods standing in long queue in the metropolis as they find the quality goods in cheap price.
"I am happy over purchasing the goods standing in queue at Railway gate crossing on Wednesday afternoon," said Shafiqul Islam, a mid-level NGO worker, adding these are quality goods and price is also reasonable.
Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is selling essentials in open markets in the city and all eight districts under Rajshahi division for keeping the essentials' prices stable ahead of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The state-run trading organisation is selling the goods at five important city points- Shaheb Bazar Zero Point, Ranibazar crossing, Railway Gate crossing, Nawdapara crossing and Luxmipur Crossing-using five trucks like other parts in the country.
Besides, 78 dealers in Rajshahi city and 377 others in eight districts have started selling the essential commodities among the public in general.
Each consumer can purchase four kilograms of sugar and lentil, five kilograms of gram and five liters of edible oil at a time.
The dealers were seen selling pulse and sugar at Taka 55 per kg each, gram at Taka 70 per kg, edible oil at Taka 85 per liter and grams at Tk 120 per kg.
Talking to the newsmen, Protap Kumar, TCB Regional Officer, said that they are selling different types of consumer goods including pulses, edible oil, sugar, grams and dates at fixed prices through 377 appointed dealers in the district including 78 in the city.
He said 400 kilograms of sugar, lentil and grams, 300 liters of soybean oil and 30 to 50 kilograms of dates will be allocated for each of the truck for selling every day excepting Friday and Saturday.
