RCC signs MoU with Oxfam, Pollishree

RANGPUR, Apr 15 (BSS): Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 'Enhancing Inclusive Disaster Resilience in Bangladesh' with donor organisation Oxfam and Pollishree, an NGO, here on Sunday.
The MoU was signed fir building a modern city through proper management in various sectors and resolving the prevailing problems through participatory approaches ensuring involvement of the common citizens from all walks in life, a press release said Monday.
Main objectives of the MoU are to reduce risks of flood, water-logging, earthquake, tornado, cold wave, drought, unplanned construction of building and urbanisation, unplanned water and sewerage systems, fire incidents, other issues and problems.
The Oxfam and 'Pollishree' with the cooperation and participation of RCC will jointly work under the MoU to resolve the issues, problems and risks in the process of building an eco-friendly, disaster-tolerant, safe, modern and beautiful Rangpur city.
