RAJBARI, June 10 (UNB): A retired police constable was beaten to death and another person injured by miscreants at Hoshendanga village in Pangsha upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Pratish Sarker Parash (55), son of late Premchand Sarker of the village.
Officer-in-charge of Pangsha Police Station Abu Shyama Iqbal Hayat said a gang of unknown miscreants called Pratish and Masud out of Pratish's house at about 11:30 pm.
Later, the miscreants beat them with sticks mercilessly, leaving them seriously injured. The injured were first admitted to Pangsha upazila health complex and later shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. Later, Pratish succumbed to his injures at the hospital at about 4:00 am on Wednesday.
