Road crashes kill four in two districts

Four people were killed and 6 others injured in separate road accidents in two districts on Saturday, reports UNB
In Lalmonirhat, two people were killed and another was injured when an autorickshaw carrying them overturned in Aditmari Upazila of Lalmonirhat on Saturday.
The deceased are Bakul Mia, 58, son of Talebbar Rahman of Dakshin Balapara Bromattar village of Mahishkhocha union, and Atiqul Islam Atiq, 34.
The identity of the injured woman could not be known immediately.
The accident occurred at around 11:00 am when the vehicle lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in Ansar Khan Pukurpar area of Mahishkhocha Bazar-Aditmari Bypass Road, leaving Atiq dead on the spot.
Of the injured, Bakul succumbed to his injuries on the way to the Upazila Health Complex, said Ali Akbar, officer-in-charge of Aditmari Police Station.
Another injured victim is undergoing treatment at the health complex.
In Faridpur, two people were killed and five others injured when a truck hit a van on Majhkandi-Bhatiapara at Mujurdia in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district.
The deceased were identified as Biplab Kumar Saha, 55 and Narayan Chandra Saha, 50 of the upazila.
The accident occurred at around 10:45 pm when the truck hit the battery-run rickshaw van carrying them while returning from Kadir village after attending a religious programme, leaving two dead on the spot and five others injured, said Al Amin Hossain, Inspector (Investigation) of Boalmari Police Station.
The injured were taken to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex.
