Robber injured in gunfight in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR, Mar 23 (UNB): An alleged robber was injured in a gunfight between his cohorts and police at Matabi in Sadar upazila early Monday. The injured was identified as Kabir Hossain.

Police said on a tip-off that a gang of robbers was trying to commit robbery in the area, a team of police launched a drive to arrest them around 3:30 am.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back, triggering a gunfight that left Kabir of the gang bullet injured.
