Robber killed in mob attack

LAXMIPUR, Apr 22 (UNB): A suspected robber was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Shikderkandi village in Raipur upazila early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Alamgir Hossain, son of Rafique Ullah of Paschim Laxmipur village in Sadar upazila.
Police said locals had information that a gang of bandits was taking preparations near Shikderkandi Government Primary School to commit robbery in the locality on Monday midnight.
Following the information, they encircled the hoodlums. At one stage, they caught Alamgir while other gang members fled the scene. The angry mob later gave Alamgir a good beating, leaving him dead on the spot.
