RU classes resume today

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Oct 2 (BSS): The classes of Rajshahi University (RU) will resume today (Saturday) after a two-week Eid-ul-Fitr and Durga Puja holidays while the 16 residential halls has reopened Friday.
RU authorities has undertaken adequate security measures with deployment of a large number of police at all seven entry points to prevent outsiders and avoid any untoward incidents.
The RU authorities have closed the 16 halls for the two weeks from September 16.
It has also asked the teachers, officials, students, employees and others concerned to carry their identity cards while at the university.
Significant number of residential students have already returned to their dormitories Friday after showing their residential identity cards.
RU Proctor Prof Chowdhury Zakaria said the authorities earlier imposed restriction on movement of outsiders on the campus as part of the 15-point action policy to keep the RU campus violence free.
