RU launches insurance service for regular students

RAJSHAHI, June 28 (BSS): Rajshahi University (RU) has launched insurance service for its regular students.

To this end, Zenith Islami Life Insurance will provide the group health and life insurance services from July 1, 2022. The RU authority has signed a deal with the insurance company at the senate building here today.

VC Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar, Pro-vice-chancellors Prof Chowdhury Jakaria and Prof Sultan-Ul-Islam, Treasurer Prof Obayedur Rahman Pramanik and Registrar Prof Abdus Salam were present on the occasion.

Each of the students who will be brought under the scheme will be given Taka 0.2 million for death while Taka 80,000 for treatment in hospital. The beneficiary will get Taka 20,000 for treatment outdoors four times in a three-month gap each. The students will also get financial support for consultancy, medical and pathology one more time in a month or year.

Under the insurance privileges, the students will get support for surgery, intensive care, blood transfusion, radiotherapy, physiotherapy, oxygen, dialysis, dressing and mobilization.
