RU punished 98 students last year

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Jan 29: The Rajshahi University (RU) authority has penalised some 98 students for different periods last year.
The action was taken against them as per the prevailing rules and regulations of the university after proven allegations in connection with unfair means and anti-disciplinary activities during the examinations.
Prof. Babul Islam, controller of examinations confirmed the information.
Sources said, they have been punished for various periods including some being expelled for one or two years, someone expelled for ongoing examination for their anti-disciplinary activities.
According to the office of the controller of examinations, university disciplinary committee recommended the punishments.
Among them, 22 students were punished on March 14, 26 students were punished on June 27, 23 students were punished on October 26 and some 27 students were punished on December 24.
Students of the university affiliate medical colleges, nursing colleges and engineering colleges are also included among the list.
Prof. Babul Islam said that syndicate, which is the highest decision making body of the university, took action based on the recommendation of disciplinary committee, in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations due to their involvement with unfair means in the examinations.
