RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Jun 12: Rajshahi University (RU) regained a land from illegal occupiers after 25 years following a court verdict.
At the end of the long legal proceedings, Joint district judge court, Rajshahi gave verdict in favour of the university as the legal owner of 17 acres of land on the western side of the RU campus boundary at Jamalpur Mouja area that was occupied by musclemen, who established a "Shrine (Mazar)" for the last 25 years.
RU VC Prof. Muhammed Mizan Uddin said, over 25 years a local vested group occupied this land in the name of shrine.
