RU students demo against night course decision

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Jan 28: The students of the Rajshhai University (RU) staged demonstration against the authority's decision to initiate night course and extra fees charged on the students.

Sources said that about a thousand students of different departments of the university under the banner of Progressive Students Alliance (PSA) brought out a protest rally from Tukitaki Chhatar today (Tuesday) at 11.00 am.

Parading the whole campus the rally gathered in a meeting at Folklore Chatter.

In the gathering Prof. Selim Reza of mass communication and journalism department said that generally RU students belonging to poor families and remote area come to this campus. So the new decision of authority to impose extra charge on the students will severely affect them.

Prof. Susmita Chakraborthy of folklore dept urged to the university authority to cancel the decision.
