JHENIDAH, Jan 16: Despite having tremendous physical handicap Mst. Rumki Khanom (10) of Eshangati village under Lohagara upazila of Narail district made a glorious result in the Primary School Certificate (PSC) exam of 2013.

Rumki, second among two sisters and one brother, was born in 2003 in Logargara, having her both hands and legs crippled with a limited capacity only to pick up very light things with the left hand taking help of legs.

After Rumki's mother Abeda Sultana had admitted her to Eshangati Primary School in class I in 2009,  Rumki's elder brother who got golden GPA 5 in the  last Junior School Certificate Exam (JSC), taught her Bangla and English alphabets which she captured in an incredibly short time.

Rumki stood first in every class reflecting her extra-ordinary willpower to be bright with the light of education alongside winning the hearts of all the teachers and other students of the school by her quiet-nature and finally got GPA 5 in the PSC exam of 2013 shining the faces of the teachers who always feel proud of her.

Rumki who has this year been admitted into class VI in Kashipur Ambikacharan Secondary School, one kilometre off their house, is taken to school regularly by mother in her lap.

The family of Rumki' father Abdur Rouf, teacher of a registered primary school, has been hard up and so he cannot not bear the educational expenses of the three children because he did not get his salary for the last four months.

Rumki's parents who feed, bathe, clothe and help her in all other works, told the FE that they never let their daughter feel that she is a handicapped child.

Through The Financial Express Rumki sought blessings of the country's people for her physical well-being and continuation of studies up to post graduate degree.

Rebeka Khanom, Lohagara upazila Nirbahi Officer told the FE that she would do everything possible on her part continuation of Rumki's education.

While talking to this correspondent, Rumki expressed her desire with smile to play a role in moulding the nation after being a teacher.

Though Rumki herself cannot walk, she would certainly spread light of knowledge among the people after completing her educational life, provided the rich section of people comes forward to her extending their helping hands, observed Anwar Hossain, headmaster of Ambikacharan Secondary School.
