RWASA implements Tk 340m project

Rajshahi Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (RWASA) has implementing a project by spending around Tk 340 million in order to bring a qualitative change in the city’s water supply system. According to concerned sources, implementation works of the two-and-half-year project is progressing fast since beginning of this year. On successful implementation of the project by this yearend, a sustainable water supply system would be built in the metropolis through improvement of both financial and manpower management. Parvez Mamud, Executive Engineer of RWASA, said the government has taken the project to increase the supply of safe water to the city dwellers as around 33 per cent of the population doesn’t have access to safe drinking water as yet. Main thrust of the project, ever first of the RWASA after established in 2011, is to increase its coverage to 87 per cent from 67 per cent of the city people, according to BSS.
