Sagor Jute Mill declares lay-off

KHULNA, Apr 16: A privatised Sagor Jute Spinning Mill has been declared lay-off on April 12 midnight without any prior notice.

As a result thousands of workers have become jobless as well as frustration and agitation have been created among the workers.

Source said that the mill authority hung a notice on the mill gate of lay-off for 15 days from 13 to 27 April for incurring losses and price fall of jute goods in the world market.

As a result about 3 thousand permanent and casual workers became jobless and passing their life in uncertainty.
