SCC to monitor market situation in Ramadan

SYLHET, June 20: Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) started monitoring the retail and wholesale market situation since Thursday afternoon and it would continue till the end of Ramadan, officials informed.

A team headed by the SCC's Secretary Reza e Rafin Sarker visited the shops at the city's Bhrahmamoyi bazaar, Lalbazar, Kalighat etc and they asked the shop owners to hang price chart of all the items, especially of the food and kitchen goods.

The businesses were also warned against adulteration, hoarding and creating artificial crisis in the market. The errant traders and businessmen would face legal action, the officials informed the traders. Besides, special mobile court and task force drives would be launched against the sale of adulterated food items and others very soon, officials informed.
