Schoolboy rescued while being trafficked to India

BENAPOLE, May 10 (UNB): A schoolboy was rescued while being trafficked to India from Benapole Bazar here on Sunday night.

The victim was identified as Maminul Islam (7), a class III student of Nabinagar Government Primary School and son of Shah Alam, a resident of Nabinagar of Savar in Dhaka.

Officer-in-charge of Benapole Police Station Apurba Hasan said on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and rescued Maminul at about 10:30am.

None was arrested as the traffickers managed to flee the scene.

A case was filed in this connection.
