Schoolboy succumbs to injuries in Rajshahi

PABNA, Nov 24 (UNB): A 16-year-old boy who sustained injuries in a bike accident in the Kulunia Bazar area of Pabna Sadar on Friday, has died.

The deceased was identified as Imon Pramanik, son of Rabiul Pramanik of Khoersuti Poschimpara under Dogasi union of Pabna district.

Imon succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday night at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital, Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said on Wednesday.

His two other friends who sustained injuries in the accident are still recuperating at Sadar General hospital.

The trio -- all Class X students -- went on a joyride on Imon's bike on Friday morning as their school was closed. When they were coming back, he lost control of the speeding bike and the three sustained injuries in the ensuing accident.

Imon was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, where he died on Tuesday night.
