Schoolgirl commits suicide in Barguna

BARGUNA, May 02 (BSS): A schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at their residence in word no-1 under Amtoli municipality on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Mitu, 14, daughter of Shah Alam Miah of Gulishkhali village under Sadar upazila of the district. She was a student of class nine at Amtoli MU Girls Pilot High School.

Quoting the victim's relatives, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Amtoli Thana Md Shahidullah said Mitu committed suicide by hanging herself at her room but the cause behind the incident could not be known immediately.

Being informed, a team of the police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Later, the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
