JOYPURHAT, Mar 20 (BSS): Emphasis should be given on science and technology for freeing the nation from the curse of poverty and building a middle income digital Bangladesh.
Secretary of Science and Technology Ministry Khandaker Md. Asaduzzaman said this while addressing as the chief guest at an inaugural function of a 3-day long BCSIR Science, Industrial and Technology Fair-2014.
Institute of Mining Mineralogy and Metallurgy (IMMM) organised the fair at Khanjanpur science laboratory campus in the district today.
Dr. Md Tofazzol Hossain Member of Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) attended the function as the special guest while Director In-charge of IMMM Dr, Abdul Hai in the chair.
Principal Scientific Officer of IMMM Dr. Md. Anwar Arefin Khan and Dr. Zaman also addressed the inaugural function among others.
A total of 200 students from different School and Collage of North Bengal took part at the fair and displayed their own creativity. Some 37 stalls have been setup in the fair.
In the fair different types of projections displayed including hazard of formalin, periscope, image in box, solar energy, windmill, traffic rules, collection of different leaves, flower petals & seeds, water pollution, volcanic eruption, environmental pollution, water cycle, blood circulatory system, make parachute, fish in a bowl, creating rainbow, keeping yourself clean, create a magnifying glass, variety uses of unused things by recycling, green city, and global warming.
