Seed, fertiliser distributed among farmers in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, Oct 30 (BSS): The Department of Agricultural under its post-flood rehabilitation programme distributed seeds and fertiliser among 15,700 poor and marginal farmers in seven upazilas of the district till October 30.

Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) distributed the seed and fertiliser among poor and marginal farmers in the district, who were affected by the recent flood, DAE sources said.

A farmer who wants to cultivate mustard got one kilograms of mustard seed, 20-kg DAP and 10-kg MOP fertiliser.

Deputy Director of DAE Dr M Rafiqul Islam said each of the farmers received a subsidy for cultivating one bigha of land under the programme.
