Seminar on seed quality certification held

GAZIPUR, Aug 22: A seminar on modern certification label for seed quality confirmation was held at the auditorium of Seed Certification Agency in Gazipur on Saturday.

Seed Certification Agency organised the seminar under "Modernisation and strengthening programme of seed certification label" project to protect the farmers from the use of locally produced or imported low quality seed of rice, wheat, jute and potato.

Director of Seed Certification Agency Mohammed Osman Khan presided over the seminar while Director General of Agricultural Extension Department Mohammed Hamidur Rahman was the chief guest.

The project will be completed within three years at the cost of Tk 52.07 million (Tk 5 crore 27 lakh and 80 thousand) while 30 million (3 crore and 27 thousands) of label will be printed with the help of The Security printing press in Gazipur
