Separate road crashes kill three in Habiganj

HABIGANJ, Mar 21 (UNB): Two people were killed when a bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Daulatpur in Bahubal upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as three-wheeler driver Farhad, 28, and Nur Ali, 40, of Shankarpur village in the upazila.
The Sylhet-bound 'Shyamoli Paribahan' hit the auto-rickshaw around 5 am, leaving Farhad and his passenger Nur dead on the spot, said Rajkumar, sub-inspector of Bahubal Police Station.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to local hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, BSS adds: An engineer was killed as a truck crushed his motorcycle in Madhobpur upazila of Habiganj on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Anupom Barua, 40, chief mechanical engineer of Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd in the upazila.
He was an inhabitant at Aburain village in Raozan upazila of Chittagong district.
Officer-in-Charge of Madhobpur police station Chandon Kumar Chakraborty said the accident took place around 10 am in Shahjibazar area on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway when Anupom was heading towards his working place.
Anupom Barua was admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.
