Sexagenarian killed by wife, son

TANGAIL, July 12 (UNB): An old man was beaten to death allegedly by his wife and son over a land-related dispute at Habibpur village in Gopalpur upazila on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Julhash Uddin, 65, a teacher of a local madrasah of the village.

Police said an altercation ensued between Julhash and his wife Monwara and son Khokon ver a land-related dispute on Thursday evening.

At one stage, Khokon and Monwara beat Julhash mercilessly, leaving him critically injured. Later he died on way to hospital.

Police could not arrest anyone as Monwara and his two sons went into hiding after the incident.
