Sexagenarian stabbed to death

SYLHET, July 14 (UNB): A sexagenarian man was stabbed to death allegedly by his neighbour over a trifling matter in Kuarpar area of the city on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Shamsul Islam,60, a resident of the area.

Quoting locals, police said Shamsul Islam and his neighbour Arju Miah locked in an altercation before iftar over collecting water from a tube-well.

As a sequel to this, Arju Miah along with his men attacked Shumsul and stabbed him indiscriminately with sharp weapons.

He was rushed to  hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
