Shariatpur journalists assoc Dhaka formed

An 11-member convening committee of Shariatpur Journalists Association, Dhaka has been formed with Senior Staff Reporter of The Independent Rafiqul Islam Azad and Assistant Editor of Press Institute of Bangladesh Mizanur Rahman as its convenor and member-secretary respectively, says a press release.

The committee has been formed at a meeting of Shariatpur journalists working in the capital.

The meeting was held at Dhaka Reporters' Unity on Tuesday with Dainik Bangabani Editor Mostaque Ahmed Mobaraki in the chair.

Sajjad Hossain Sabuj of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha has been made joint convenor while Anisur Rahman of Financial Express treasurer of the newly formed organisation.

The executive members are: Abdus Salam (Prothom Alo), Mozammel Haque Chanchal (Jugantor), Rozina Islam (Prothom Alo), Borhanuddin (Arthakantha), Abu Sufian (Newsnextbd), Ahmed Ullah (Daily Sun) and Shahadat Hossain Shahin.

Senior journalists-Mostaque Ahmed Mobaraki, Mahmud Shafique, Syed Zahirul Abedin (Daily Observer) and Fakhrul Alam Kanchan (NTV) have been nominated as advisers of the organisation.

The convening committee is entrusted with the responsibility to form full-fledged committee of the organisation through election within six months.
