Six die in Satkhira, Savar road crashes

SATKHIRA, Apr 03 (UNB): Two motorcycle riders were killed and two others injured following a head-on collision between two motorbikes on Kaliganj-Shymganj road in Pirojpur Katakhali area of Kaliganj upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Mannan Sarder, 50, son of Mofiz Uddin of Nijdebpur village and Nur Hossain, 32, son of Azgar Ali of Sonatola village.
Imran Mehedi Siddiq, assistant superintendent of police of Kaliganj circle, said two motorcycles collided head on in the area around 10:30am, leaving one from each of the motorcycles dead on the spot and two others -- Tuhin and Shanto-- injured.
Meanwhile, in Savar four people, including a woman and her daughter, were killed in separate road accidents on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway on Monday night.
Two motorbike riders, Nahid Uzzaman and Yunus Ali, marketing officers of Shah Cement Company, were killed as the motorcycle carrying three people crushed under a truck and a fire service vehicle in Rajfulbaria area around 7.30am.
The accident left another motorcyclist critically injured who later was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital .
Meanwhile, a woman and her seven-month old daughter were killed when a speedy bus hit them in Bhakurta Turag Bridge area around 10pm, said Mohsinul Kadir, officer-in-charge of Savar Police Station.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
On information police recovered the bodies and sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
