There is no other alternative but to forge social resistance to prevent violation of human rights (HR) and injustice, speakers told discussions in different districts marking the International Human Rights Day on Sunday, reports BSS.

In Manikganj, this year's theme of the day was "Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All".

To mark the day, a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner, organised by Manikganj district administration.

Deputy Commissioner Rahana Akther addressed the programme as the chief guest with Additional Deputy Magistrate (ADM) Sanjida Yeasmin in the chair.

In Rajshahi, a discussion was held where speakers observed that concerted efforts of all government, non-government and volunteer organisations can be the crucial means of protecting human rights to ensure dignified life of the people.

People of all levels must raise their voices for establishing their equal rights in society alongside forging social resistance against violation of human rights, they noted.
