\\\'Son kills\\\' father in Jamalpur

An old man was killed in an attack allegedly by his son at East Bahadurpur village at Islampur Upazila in Jamalpur on Friday. The victim was identified as Meher Ali, 70. Police and locals said Meher Ali had a dispute with his son, Sanwar Hossain, 45, over their land property for a long time. As a sequel to the dispute, Sanwar engaged in an altercation with Meher Ali and at one stage hit his father in the head with a spade, leaving him dead on the spot in the afternoon. Sanwar went into hiding after the murder. A case was filed, according to UNB.
