Speakers for child-friendly environ in educational institutions

RANGPUR, Oct 14 (BSS): Child-friendly environment and congenial academic atmosphere must be ensured in educational institutions to properly flourish latent talents of all children for becoming worthy citizens of the nation.

The observation came at the concluding and prize distribution function of the World Children's Day- 2018 and World Children's Rights Week- 2018 held at District Shishu Academy auditorium in the city on Saturday evening.

The district administration jointly with district unit of Bangladesh Shishu Academy (BSA) organised the event followed by a colourful cultural function that ended there at night.

Government officials, children of different child organisations, students and teachers of different educational institutions, guardians, civil society members, professionals, public representatives and local elite were present.

Deputy Director (Local Government) for Ruhul Amin Mian attended the function and distributed prizes among children winners of different competitions as the chief guest with District Children Affairs Officer Imran Mian in the chair.

Cultural personality Monwar Hossain, president of Rangpur unit of Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela Raihan Ahmed, Mithapukur Upazila Children Affairs Officer MA Wahed, child dance artiste Shamima Akhter, among others, addressed.

The speakers put special importance on ensuring universal rights to education of all children, including those belonging to the backward social sections, congenial and friendly atmosphere in the educational institutions for them.

Monwar Hossain highly appreciated the epoch-making initiatives taken by the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for ensuring universal rights of all children for their normal growth, education, health care and entertainment.

The chief guest said the present government has been implementing various programmes to ensure congenial atmosphere and facilities of all children for their education, health care, food, nutrition and shelter as per the UN Charter for children rights.

Later, he distributed prizes among the winner children of different competitions organised for them during the past one week.
